So i had another cycling accident on my bike 2 nights ago. I was riding down the street in the right lane and i was coming up in an intersection. The guy decides to go block my whole lane and just stop right there. I was already going pretty fast and didn’t have time to skid stop. So i applied my emergency brake and flew forward with my bike. And yes i was clipped in. So my bike went with me. I slammed right on the floor next to the car. Landed straight on my shoulder and back. I went to the doctors and might have a fractured collar bone. It’s badly bruised and can’t move it in a lot of positions. I also have road rash on my back and a square shaped bruised from my phone because i was wearing a cycling jersey. Nasty scratches on my phone but luckily it didn’t break. The guy stopped and made sure i was okay. Nothing too serious i told him and we both apologized. He gave me a ride home and everything was cool. Nothing was damaged to my bike except my drop bars were just out of position, and it maybe trued my front wheel just a tad bid. Not too bad though. I was really bummed though because i had a cyclo cross race this sunday. My first ever and i just gotten on a team. I’m super bummed about that. First race of the season. But hopefully i can heal quick in time for the next race. Good thing nothing too serious happened to me and my bike. I put a lot of money into it, and it would’ve sucked to see it wrecked within the first 2-3 months with it. But i love cycling. And these accident won’t ever make me stop. It will only make me a better rider on the streets.
Finally gonna go for a ride today. I bought a new FSA Compressor Compression Cap and it’s much, much better than a star nut. Let’s hope all goes well and my tire doesn’t blow up from the skids!
theres this bike shop that is mainly a fixed gear bike shop. i called for fun if they do tune ups on road bikes.
the guy responded back about 10 seconds saying “no we dont know how to do tune ups”. i mention what the site said and he said “we just do that so we can get customers”. so in my head...
